FAQ

DOOH — questions we get asked

What is the advantage of using 3D in DOOH advertising?

3D allows brands to create digital out-of-home advertising that feels much more dimensional and eye-catching than traditional flat screen content. With 3D, we can design subjects and visual effects that appear to extend beyond the surface of a 2D digital screen. Products can appear to come towards the viewer, objects can interact with the surrounding architecture, and entire scenes can be designed to create the illusion of depth. Another major advantage is flexibility during production. Once a 3D asset or scene has been created, we can render it in different formats and aspect ratios without having to organise a new shoot. This makes adaptations for different DOOH screens relatively cost-effective and allows a campaign to be rolled out across multiple placements more efficiently.

What is anamorphic DOOH advertising?

Anamorphic DOOH is a form of 3D digital out-of-home advertising that creates the illusion of depth on a specially shaped or positioned screen. Unlike standard digital billboards, anamorphic screens use specific screen geometries — often a combination of two perpendicular surfaces — to create a forced-perspective illusion. The content is designed from a specific viewing angle so that products and objects can appear to extend out of the screen or exist within the surrounding space. In Vienna, there are currently two prominent anamorphic DOOH screens, one on Mariahilfer Straße and one in the Prater. When the content is well designed, the physical screen becomes an eye-catching visual experience in the real world. And because these unusual 3D moments are highly visual and often surprising, they can also be filmed by passers-by and shared on social media, giving the campaign a second life beyond the physical screen.

How much does a DOOH campaign cost?

The cost of a DOOH campaign depends on several factors, including the creative concept, number of screens, formats, production complexity and media placement. There are generally two parts to a DOOH campaign: the production of the creative content and the media budget for running it on the screens. We can handle the creative production and, depending on the campaign, help you determine what is technically possible for the selected screens. One of the advantages of working with 3D is that the same assets can often be adapted and rendered for different screen formats without having to film everything again. This can make multi-screen campaigns and format adaptations significantly more efficient. And when the creative is designed to be visually striking, the content can potentially generate additional reach when people capture and share it on social media.

Can you create DOOH content for our specific screen?

Absolutely. We can create DOOH content for different screen formats, dimensions and technical requirements. Whether you are planning a standard digital billboard, a large LED installation or an anamorphic 3D screen, we can develop the creative and adapt the production to the specific display. Our 3D workflows also make it possible to create a scene once and then render different versions for different screen formats, locations and aspect ratios. This gives brands more flexibility when expanding a campaign across multiple DOOH placements. Tell us which screen you want to use, what you want to achieve and what budget you have in mind, and we'll tell you what we can create with it.
